Police arrest Man and Baboon over N230k robbery

An interesting drama played out in Lagos recently, after some criminals who were with two baboons waylaid a man as he was coming out from the bank at Ogba area of the state. The unsuspecting victim who withdrew the sum of N230,000 from the bank was shocked when he stepped out only to see some roughly dressed young men with two giant-sized baboons starring at him menacingly. Without blinking an eyelid, the man took to his heels, abandoning his bag of money.

Crime Guard gathered that the bandits used their baboons to scare the victim after driving close to the banking premises with an unregistered Nissan Primera. It was learnt that two of the suspects alighted from the vehicle with two baboons and ambushed the man as he was coming out of the banking hall after withdrawing the money from his account. The victim reportedly was frightened and dropped the nylon bag containing the cash on the ground and ran for dear life.

Corruption will win today’s election-Etcetera

Call me whatever you want after seeing my headline, but I very well know that within you, there is an awareness that the corrupt candidate will win in today’s election, not the candidate who lives by said morals. I have eight reasons for saying so.

1. Because every voter in Nigeria has his/her own hypothetical belief that most politicians are corrupt and there is very little an idealist politician can do to reform the system. So what difference would it make anyway, even if an idealist manages to win?

I am committed to peace accord - Buhari

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari on Friday reiterated his commitment to the Abuja peace Accord. Adams: Tinubu is a Big Time Political Trader

Once described as a student of “marketalism of struggle”, leader of the Oodua Peoples Congress, Chief Gani Adams, a few days ago re-echoed this notion in an interview with ThisDay, when he described a former governor of Lagos State and one of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu as a big time political trader. In this no-holds-barred interview, Adams justified the very reason his group is parting ways with the so-called progressives in this year’s general election. This is the excerpts as presented by Ojo M. Maduekwe PR.

Buhari planning to send me to prison –Patience

The wife of the President, Patience Jonathan, says the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) will send her to jail if he is elected. "I am ready for arrest" - Tinubu

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has said he is prepared for arrest by security agents ahead of the general elections. He also said   at the 7th annual edition of the Bola Tinubu Colloquium   in Lagos on Wednesday   that the time had come for a non-violent revolution against the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

He said, “(There are) all kinds of threats and reports that they are ready to arrest APC leaders; they are busy making sinister plans instead of leading the nation; this nation is not for sale, it is for change; positive change that we can believe.

“For me, personally, I have packed a small bag. They may arrest me and others, but they cannot arrest an idea whose time has come. The time for a common-sense revolution has come. So, Nigeria, in calling for a common-sense revolution, I do not advocate violence; I abhor it.

Here are five quotes from Obama’s message that member of All Progressives Congress (APC) are very uncomfortable with

Here are five quotes from Obama’s message that members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are very uncomfortable with:

1. “Nigeria is a great nation and you can be proud of the progress you’ve made.”
Obama acknowledges that Nigeria has made tremendous progress that we can be proud of. Listening to the APC’s message you would think that Nigeria is not working, and Obama rightly points out that we have made progress under the present Jonathan administration.
Who would want uncertain change over the chance to keep progressing?
2. “Together, you won your independence, emerged from military rule, and strengthened democratic institutions.”

Mr President,Please Leave Entertainers Alone- Etcetera

Once again, Nollywood and President Jonathan are disconnected from the priorities of Nigerians. Millions are hungry and the country is headed off a cliff and what we get is the President having weekly dinner with celebs at Eko Hotel. Mr. President should know that all entertainers in the country won’t amount to a spoon of water in the bucket of our population.

I agree that our entertainers judging by recent behaviour are now seen as hungry men and women with insatiable appetite, but Mr. President, the larger part of the society are equally hungry and should be fed as well. Why feed just the entertainers? Isn’t that discrimination? What will the entertainers say to Jonathan except the usual lies and half truths? Can a man with a mouthful of undeserved food speak or say the truth?

In a very interesting article he titled "My name is Dabiri, Lanre Dabiri"  he opens up on taking a break from music, his new life schedule as a family man and more
The last few years of my life have been very interesting, a lot has changed. I don’t have an album coming out, I’m not touring, I haven’t even been in a recording studio in months.. I have two houses full of pro audio recording equipment that are probably going to be listed on eBay soon, hard drives of music I like to consider ‘dated’, and fewer and fewer music business related phone calls with each passing month. The only thing that has remained constant and may actually be growing in number is the barrage of emails from up and coming talent. They’re either looking to get signed, get connected to a colleague, or just seeking advice.
